York
- We leave London King's Cross Station at 7.00 am
and arrive at York Station. Here we take our
open-top city sightseeing tour of York and The
Shambles (quaint old alleyways and lanes) where you
can later browse in its antique shops, wander
around the market or relax in one of the many old
coffee shops. Your tour includes admission to
the
Jorvik Viking Centre,
for a unique insight into the life of the
Vikings.
A
visit to York
Minster,
famous for its wealth of stained glass is a must.
Walk down Kirkgate, a street of Victorian shops and
visit the King William pub. If there's time you
could visit Fairfax House, the Merchant Adventurers
Hall, York Castle Museum or York Art Gallery.
before catching the train back to
London.
