Highlights : A two day tour to glorious Connemara, overnighting at the very comfortable Station House Hotel in Clifden - the Capital of Connemara.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

Check in Dublin Heuston station (Customer Service Desk) 07:00 InterCity train to Galway (full breakfast service available). We traverse Ireland's midlands with its vast tracts of peat (turf) bogs, crossing the mighty River Shannon at Athlone. On arrival at Galway, we transfer to our touring coach before striking out into the magnificent scenery of Connemara, mountains, lakes, stone walls and thatched cottages - all are there for you to behold. We travel via the Maam valley and Leenane, on the shores of Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord, to Kylemore Abbey, where there will be time for lunch and shopping. On to Clifden - the Capital of Connemara. Afternoon free. Overnight accommodation at the luxury Station House Hotel, with bed & full Irish breakfast.

DAY 2

Morning free in Clifden. After lunch we travel via Recess to Maam Cross, from where we travel into south Connemara and the Gaeltacht or Irish speaking area, before returning to Galway. We depart Galway by InterCity train to Dublin (Dinner service available). Arrival in Heuston station is at 21:35
