Roman Bath, Medieval Castle Combe and Lacock Village

You may wish to spend longer in Bath, or you may wish to spend longer in the Cotswolds - its entirely your choice .......
Savour the atmosphere and golden beauty of Bath, famous for its Roman history and elegant Georgian architecture. Enjoy a guided tour around this World Heritage city once home to Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Gainsborough, Lord Nelson and Beau Nash.

Explore the impressive architecture of the Royal Crescent and The Circus, Pulteney Bridge and the magnificent weir, The Abbey, Assembly Rooms and Theater Royal and hear about the history, legends and characters which have shaped Bath through the ages.

Afterwards, visit the Roman Baths and Museum and Pump Rooms and explore Bath at your leisure. Sample the spring waters, explore the paved passages, narrow streets and quaint shops. Make sure you pause to watch the bizarre street performers. Maybe enjoy lunch in one of the many excellent pubs and restaurants or enjoy a picnic by the rushing waters of the Weir and River Avon. We spend well over 3 hrs in Bath so there is plenty of time to enjoy the many attractions of this beautiful city.

Afterwards, we enjoy a scenic drive through the leafy lanes of the Cotswolds to visit idyllic Castle Combe, voted the "prettiest village in England". Explore this unspoilt village with its quaint cottages, and rushing stream. Savour the peaceful atmosphere of an age long gone and maybe enjoy a pint of traditional ale or a cream tea in an old English inn.

We also visit the medieval village of Lacock which has hardly changed in the past 200 years. With its magnificent abbey, half timbered cottages and greystone houses it recently provided the perfect film setting for both "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" and Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice".
